Fossil fuel treaty heads to Toronto City Council!

The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty (FFNPT) is going to City Council next week! The motion is being brought by Councillors Mike Layton & Shelley Carroll. We need to get a 2/3 vote in support for it to pass on July 14. Or it may be referred to a committee & come back in September. Let's see if we can get it passed! So please take the actions listed below. Let's get at least 1000 signatures on the petition.

1. SIGN PETITION HERE (it will be submitted on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, so please sign by 12 noon Tuesday)

2. WRITE A PERSONAL LETTER/EMAIL supporting adoption of the FFNPT to the Mayor and City Councillors before this Tuesday, July 13. You will find a model letter here.

3. MULTIPLY YOUR VOICE THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA: Reach the Mayor and Councillors on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Councillor contact info and twitter handles are here.

 I am sad that the Conservative candidates didn't attend the local all party climate debates. Seems like the comment that Mr. Otoole is unable to convince his caucus that the climate crisis exists is accurate. Express your opinion and vote please. Nikos
